We see these large sea stars quite often on the West Coast of British Columbia and they are found from Alaska to California.  Always impressive to see though with all those legs.

I took these with a low resolution camera built into a diving mask.  The photos weren’t too impressive right out of the camera but when I clicked ‘auto’ in the software I was using the colours popped out  – not as I shot them but pretty interesting nonetheless.
